IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction
Near the end of the course, students are invited to complete the IDEA (SRI) survey. This anonymous survey allows students to provide feedback on their learning experience. The IDEA SRI focuses on student learning and offers instructors valuable insights to help improve their teaching. A key feature of the survey is its emphasis on student perceptions of their progress toward specific learning objectives. Before the survey is administered, the instructor selects the most important learning objectives for the course. Students then rate their progress on those objectives. The system also accounts for factors outside the instructor’s control — such as student motivation and work habits — to ensure fair and meaningful results.
